Vradal, Telemark,
Vrådal is a beautiful valley in the heart of Telemark about 200km from Oslo and just 150km from Torp Airport. The area is a great draw both in summer and winter with two lakes - Nisser and Vråtvatner providing many activities.
Vrådal has 2 hotels, chalet-parks, shops, tourist office, bank, museums, horse centre, silversmith workshop and the Panorama Ski Centre.
As you might imagine for an area in Telemark there is plenty of opportunity for cross country skiing whilst the Vrådal Panorama Skisenter has 15 pistes and 5 lifts making to the largest alpine ski centre in Telemark.
Skiiers looking to get to the roots of their passion can do no better than to visit The Norwegian Ski Centre in Moregdal. Sondre Norheim, the father of modern skiing, was born in Morgedal in 1825. Through advanced multi media shows, breathtaking films, exciting exhibitions and sound- and light effects Norsk skieventyr in Morgedal presents 4000 years of ski history.
The lakes form part of the Telemark Canal navigation and at Vrådal locks there is a museum telling the local history of the waterway and surrounding area.
This truly is a delightful area with plenty of activities for the old and young.
