Book early! - car hire gets more expensive the closer to the rental date you book, and at many locations availability is limited so if you book your car rental late, you may end up hiring a bigger car than you need.

Book Online - turning up at the car rental desk in the airport and paying the over the counter rate will be painfully expensive.

Hire two Cars - this sounds crazy but if you need a 7 seater or more, often it is cheaper to hire two smaller cars.
