Norway Direct is pleased to present these fantasic architect designed apartments each with a wonderful view to the fjord. Only 90 minutes drive from Ryan Airs destination in Southern Norway Oslo Torp. These apartments are ideal for that week end break Summer Winter or Autumn.
The apartments consists of three rooms on the 1st floor, furnished to the highest Norwegian standards.
There are two bedrooms sleeping in total four people. although it is possible to book an extra bedroom within the building if your party is larger than four. (Please ask for details) On the ground floor there is a TV lounge, sauna, solarium, massage chair and a small shop.
The Views to the Fjord
Moen has its own small sandy beach with safe and clean bathing in the crystal clear fjord water. The temperature of the water are at the moment (September) is 22 degrees. For Stronger swimmers there is a diving board and platform about 50 metres from the shore.
There is a jetty where lots of small boats are moored. Boat rental and fishing equipment is available for those who would like try fishing in the salt water fjord. Cod, Pollock, Whiting, Mackerel by the ton; Herring, Sea Trout… are all literally on the door step of your cabin.
For the children - in addition to the sandy beach there is a play area… with low level trampolines and a football pitch - great for those England v Norway replays! A small kiosk sells some warm food and groceries together with fishing equipment. There is a small shop at the reception where you can buy snacks and the essential items and even fishing tackle. Its only a 10 minute drive to the local supermarket on the way to Risør.
Ice fishing
What did you do this winter? Instead of a Sunday in Argos how about a Winters day ice fishing in Norway? Drill a hole in the ice with a special ice drill and away you go. Fish for Cod and most other sea fish just a few meters from your door step. What an experience! An experience for both adults and children. Moen Camping is situated on the South Fjord. Warm in summer and frozen every winter. With little wind and flat sea it is ideal for a fantastic fishing experience - even when you have to cut through the ice! A Winter Break at Moen...What a contrast with the UK! A snowy landscape with blue skies, a crisp dry cold (not like those damp windy Winters of the UK). The frozen fjord is right on your door step.
Imagine taking a “spark” ride - a chair on skis (see picture) - across the frozen sea and explore the Islands within the Fjord. The Ice in the winter is over a metre thick so it is safe, so safe in fact cars are often raced on the ice!... (This is more often the weather but of course cannot be guaranteed).
