Charming small cottage situated in an idyllic situation beside a lake, which is excellent for swimming and fishing. There is a small boat you can use, and from the lake through a small channel you can access a much larger lake with superb fishing. Within easy reach is the pretty seaside town of Lillesand with shops and restaurants, and a little further along the coast is Grimstad and Arendal.
This traditional wooden cottage offers delightful accommodation in a peaceful rural setting, and is a short drive from the towns, beaches and islands of Norway's south coast. The property has been sensitively restored by the owner who has been careful to retain its character and charm.

Local Area
The rural location of the cottage is rich in wildlife both on land and in water, moose are regularly seen here and the lake is excellent for trout and perch, with excellent sea trout fishing nearby.
You can walk for miles inland from the cottage and not meet a soul, and when you want to get back to civilisation, bustling seaside villages and towns are nearby. Lillesand is 5 minutes, Arendal 40 minutes.
The area is superb for families with clean beaches and plenty to occupy the kids, including Kristiansand Zoo - highly recommended by our guests.
Notes:
Linen/Towels can be hired for £16 per person, and a NOK 1000 (£100) deposit is payable on arrival, from which a £70 cleaning charge is deducted - this is quite usual in Norway.
You can also request a "welcome pack" of food and drink so you don't have to visit a supermarket as soon as you arrive - this is especially useful for late or Sunday arrivals, because shops may not be open.
