Saving Money with Ryanair
Ryanair was formed in 1985 with one idea in mind - to provide low fares and a friendly and efficient service. Today they fly to 85 destinations in 16 countries. Norway is included in these destinations of course. You can fly to Oslo Torp (near Sandefjord) on the east coast from Stansted or Glasgow, or to Haugesund on the west coast between Stavanger and Bergen. How can I save? |
Ryanair sells all its through their web site at www.ryanair.com which means no agents to pay and no tickets to print. Booking is easy. Simply visit their web site, click on the book now button and select your departure (origin) and destination points. Select your dates and how many there are, and click the search button. Why can't I see the fare that is advertised? Does it work? That said, not every fare will be that cheap. Ryanair allocates a certain number of seats per flight to be sold at the special price and as any one flight starts to fill up then the prices will go up. So booking early is certainly a very good idea! And how can you find these flights? The best way is to keep looking on the Ryan Air web site and hopefully you will find that bargain at the time you want. Here are some tips:
The Flight There are no complimentary drinks or meals on board, but there is a catering trolley offering snacks and hot and cold drinks. You can of course bring your own. Duty free is also available onboard, but take my advice and buy these at the airport - it's a lot cheaper! Oslo Torp Airport Oslo Torp has recently been renovated. The fact that it is small (just one runway) makes it one of the easiest to pass through that I know. A few yards inside you pass through passport control and directly into the baggage hall. About 15 mintues later you are picking up your bags and a few more yards takes you to the main concourse and your holiday. Finally, if you are expecting your flight to give you all the comforts of traditional airlines, then perhaps this is not for you. But if you think of it as a form of transport not unlike the train then you will without doubt save yourself money.
