Norway has a good range of supermarkets and restaurants and bars to suit most budgets, in particular seafood is excellent especially in coastal locations - and with abundant sea and river fish you can catch your own dinner! Alcohol is available in bars and restaurants, beer can be bought from supermarkets and wine/spirits can be purchased from the official "Vinmonopolet" shops. To discourage excessive drinking, alcohol is quite heavily taxed so most Norwegians will enjoy a party at home before going out (forspiel) and then an after-party (nachtspiel).
