Between the mountains and hills of Aust Agder lies the busy yet tranquil community of Gjøvdal. The wonderful countryside offers great fishing canoeing and hiking, and if you have never swum in a mountain stream where it widens out into a rock pool then you have never lived! Visit Flatlandsmoen where there are ancient stone mounds from a farming settlement of around AD500. The local shop provides well for the community and visitor with tourist information, a cafe and local crafts.
