Einer Lakeside Cabin

This is a typical traditional cabin where Norwegians will escape the pressures of daily life and relax, within driving distance of Oslo's airports, surrounded by lakes and forests, the perfect retreat in all seasons.

There are three cabins alone on the banks of a beautiful and tranquil lake, in summer it is surprisingly warm and there is nothing better than taking a dip in the crystal clear water after a day hiking in the forest and mountains of Telemark.

In winter the area is transformed in to a magical world of snow covered hills and ice frosted pine trees; the lake may well be frozen (why not try your hand at ice fishing!) but your cabin will be warm and snug with a roaring log fire and the smell of woodsmoke in the air.

The cabin has hot and cold running water, shower, wc, electrical heating and wood burner.
There are two bedrooms with family bunks sleeping three (two below and one above).
The kitchen is equipped with electric oven, fridge/freezer, coffee maker and all utensils.

Outside there is a terrace and boats you can use on the lake.

Firewood and electricity are included.

The local skiing
Winter. It is about 50 minutes to the local ski centre at Gautefall... So if you would like a holiday... and do not want to be in the ski centre.. these cabins are for you...

Gautefall Ski Centre

Gautefall Alpinsenter has 8 slopes, 1 chair lift and 5 T-bar lifts with a total capacity of 6,000 people per hour, 2 sledging hills, a fantastic snow canon, night openings with flood lit slopes every Tuesday and Friday, separate ski play area, children’s slope with free lifts for children under 7, ski school with courses in all forms skiing, including snowboarding, new snowboard arena with quarterpipe, big jumps, rails and Norway’s most challenging halfpipe. Hands-Free Snowpass makes it easy to pass through check points. Can be used at most facilities in Norway and Europe. The cross-country tracks are prepared for both classical and free-style skiing.

Summer Activities

Take a leisurely row on the lake, swim or fish in the fresh water, or enjoy some beautiful hikes in complete seclusion.  If you want something more adventurous then you can also enjoy white water rafting, moose safari and if you head the short distance to the coast you have many towns and villages to explore with a variety of events and festivals in summer.  The coast is also good for sea kayaking and sea fishing.

We had a great holiday. Lars was very friendly and helpful, especially when Tim fell in the river and injured his leg and we had to go to hospital. The location was beautiful and we found the cabin very comfortable. We enjoyed borrowing bikes to cycle through the woods, and spent a lot of time on the lake. We enjoyed the beaver/elk safari and white water rafting too. The weather was fantastic for the first week. We had quite a lot of rain during the second week but we managed to get out and about.

Thank you for a lovely holiday. We would like to visit Norway in the winter.
